Finally, I came here to USA on 26th August. I met Amy who is my host mother and Isdora who is an exchange student of Kenia at airport. We are going to live together under the same roof. It is very interesting for me because we are from different country and usually use different language. I would like to know each other as soon as possible.
I go to Forest Grove High School which has started since 30th August so I spend the busiest time. When I came here, I could not think about jet lag. I just worried about school. However, before school start, I met field staff. She gave me advice that I should just smile in school and then I could make friends.
First day of school, we had orientation. My school has about 2000 people so there are full of people everywhere. I was overwhelmed by them, but I try to say hello with smile. Then I was able to make a first friend who is one of my good friend now.
Second day and third day of school, we took classes. Of course, I did not have friends each class so I try to talk to students who sit down next to me. Always they talk back to me kindly. Then I could make friends in each class. And I could have lunch with my friends now.
I learned many things this week. For example, being courageous is very important because if I did not do anything I could not make friend and cold not enjoy everything so I think I have to keep up this work.
